Boys’ Basketball vs. Magen Abraham
On Sunday, January 1st, the HANC Hurricane Boy’s Basketball team played a ferocious Yeshiva Magen Abraham side at the Sephardic Center, ultimately coming out on top in a tight, back-and-forth game, 57-51.
There was room for improvement, but the outcome was a well-deserved win for the Hurricanes. Freshman Armaan Omidi, #3, led his spirited team, scoring 21 points, with help from a wide variety of his teammates offensively as well as defensively.
Execution came and went, sometimes shots were dropping and at other times they were cold, but what was consistent for the Hurricanes throughout the game was the plan: HANC team played strategically and benefited greatly from strong communication to free up clean, efficient passes and shots.
The team’s motor throughout the game was also extremely high–and the energy was palpable even from the bench. The HANC coaches were extremely animated throughout the game, drawing up plays, directing players. Ultimately this all paid off.
This has been a hard season for the HANC Hurricanes Boys Basketball team, but with communication and energy like they had in this game they still have the opportunity to turn their whole season around.
We are all excited to see how the rest of the season turns out for the HANC Hurricanes boys basketball team!
